OH。 MY。 GOODNESS。This book。 I literally cannot wrap my head around what just happened。 So, I started the book with high expectations (bc agggtm was just as amazing), and those expectations were met and exceeded! The plot twists all around were a roller coaster ride。 I can't wait until the third book (As Good as Dead)! 5/5!! I 100% recommend this book :) OH。 MY。 GOODNESS。This book。 I literally cannot wrap my head around what just happened。 So, I started the book with high expectations (bc agggtm was just as amazing), and those expectations were met and exceeded! The plot twists all around were a roller coaster ride。 I can't wait until the third book (As Good as Dead)! 5/5!! 4。50When I started this, I did not have high hopes。 It took far too long to get into the main plot of the story, but lo and behold, it turned out fantastic。 Definitely give this one a chance if it appears too slow in the beginning。 It's worth it。 4。50When I started this, I did not have high hopes。 It took far too long to get into the main plot of the story, but lo and behold, it turned out fantastic。 Definitely give this one a chance if it appears too slow in the beginning。 It's worth it。 。。。more

tw for discussions of rape the first book in this series is one of my fave books and i’m just so thrilled that there is a sequel for me to also love! this certainly did not disappoint! it’s just SO GOOD。 i loved so many things, like the concept of pip having a true crime podcast, the usage of audio transcripts and photos of evidence and reddit threads and all the things along those lines, and the humanity that existed in all the characters。 and i love pip SO MUCH。 plus the twists were just fanta tw for discussions of rape the first book in this series is one of my fave books and i’m just so thrilled that there is a sequel for me to also love! this certainly did not disappoint! it’s just SO GOOD。 i loved so many things, like the concept of pip having a true crime podcast, the usage of audio transcripts and photos of evidence and reddit threads and all the things along those lines, and the humanity that existed in all the characters。 and i love pip SO MUCH。 plus the twists were just fantastic。 just like the first one, it was hard to put down! i knew i would have to set aside time to finish it all, and i did indeed take less than 24 hours (including sleeping and doing other work)。 i’m SOOOOO happy there’s going to be a third book, 9/28 can’t come quick enough 。。。more

I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much at the first one, but I am still a huge fan of this series。 They’re just so enjoyable! This plot felt a littler thinner than the previous one, but at the end I was still enjoying myself and can’t wait for the third one。

Holly Jackson serves you YA mysteries on a silver platter。 This is the sequel to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and her books consistently tie everything together wonderfully。 There are no loose ends, no plot holes, nothing too ridiculous or far fetched。 She reminds you of the clues you missed throughout the book and I just love it。High school senior Pip is fresh out of the newspaper articles after she solved hometown murder。 She decides to turn her findings into a podcast, but Pip isn’t here fo Holly Jackson serves you YA mysteries on a silver platter。 This is the sequel to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and her books consistently tie everything together wonderfully。 There are no loose ends, no plot holes, nothing too ridiculous or far fetched。 She reminds you of the clues you missed throughout the book and I just love it。High school senior Pip is fresh out of the newspaper articles after she solved hometown murder。 She decides to turn her findings into a podcast, but Pip isn’t here for fame: she’s here to help others and solve mysteries。 But she promised her family, her bf Ravi, and herself that she would never be dragged into the depths of sleuthing as much as last time。 Famous last words?Pip is approached by her friend Conner and his mom who believe something has happened to Conner’s brother Jamie。 When the police won’t help because Jamie is not high risk, he’s an adult, and he has stepped away from his life before, Pip breaks her promise and dives deep in order to bring Jamie home。 。。。more

She does it again! Another book where I was hanging on ever word! Do yourself a favor。。listen to the audio version! It truly is an experience! It has a whole cast, the sound effects, and production is just incredible! And it doesn’t take away from the story! If anything it amplifies it! Twiddling my thumbs until book # 3 in September!

I love Pip!Please make sure you've read the first one before you read this one。 There is way too much carryover to read this as a standalone。Once again Pip finds herself trying to solve a mystery, but rather than a cold case it's happening now。 In real time。 Can she save Jamie in time?Written very much like the first book, except Pip is using her podcast so some of the chapters are the podcast giving us an update。 She's interviewing and following clues in her small town to find one of her friend I love Pip!Please make sure you've read the first one before you read this one。 There is way too much carryover to read this as a standalone。Once again Pip finds herself trying to solve a mystery, but rather than a cold case it's happening now。 In real time。 Can she save Jamie in time?Written very much like the first book, except Pip is using her podcast so some of the chapters are the podcast giving us an update。 She's interviewing and following clues in her small town to find one of her friends brothers who's missing。 Of course Ravi is there as her right hand。An enjoyable quick read, and best yet - at the end- THERE'S GOING TO BE A BOOK THREE! Once again good last minute plot twists。 Once again still in love with Pip and Ravi’s relationship。 First one was better in my opinion just because I feel like it had more dram and this one was more simple buttt I really liked the child murderer case being brought in, I thought that was a good plot choice。 But yes, veryyy good, definitely recommend。 *Also I love angry pip and I love how the author showed that side to her and I love how Ravi is by her side through it all。*

While I found A Good Girl's Guide to Murder a lot more suspenseful than its sequel, this was still a fun audiobook to listen to。In this book, we reunite with Pip as she decides to make a podcast regarding the her small town's biggest murder mystery and the other terrible thing that happened during those events。 When a friend of her's ask to help look for his missing brother, she wants to say no, but eventually caves and says agrees。You will need to have read the first book in order to understand While I found A Good Girl's Guide to Murder a lot more suspenseful than its sequel, this was still a fun audiobook to listen to。In this book, we reunite with Pip as she decides to make a podcast regarding the her small town's biggest murder mystery and the other terrible thing that happened during those events。 When a friend of her's ask to help look for his missing brother, she wants to say no, but eventually caves and says agrees。You will need to have read the first book in order to understand this one, because a few events that happened in the previous book play a much larger role in this one。 The best parts by far are the interviews and podcasts, similar to how I felt the first book。 These felt a bit more natural, hearing some laughs and the panic in the voices, which is always a bonus for me。 Seeing all old characters come back again was a lot of fun, though some I was just meh on returning。 The mystery of this case was very fun in the beginning, but started to kind of bore me towards the end。 I didn't see the plot twist coming, that's for sure。 I just。。。 didn't feel as transfixed as I was before in the first book。 The first book in my opinion had a bit more at stake, which was what made it thrilling to me。That's not to say this isn't a bad book。 I do find this is perfect for teenagers showing an interest in mystery thriller books。 All I have left to say is that with the way this book ended, I think Pip's adventure is just beginning。 It also makes me wonder if there was a tiny clue I missed in this book that will have a much larger role in the third book。。。 。。。more

Like many people I read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and absolutely loved it。 The use of mixed media was expertly done and listening to the audiobook was similar to a podcast。 In book 2, we follow Pip as she does just that, creating a podcast to detail the missing person case Jamie, older brother to her friend Connor。 I suppose if I had JUST finished book 1 then I would remember all of these characters but that is not the case and there were many people I was left wondering if I was supposed to Like many people I read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and absolutely loved it。 The use of mixed media was expertly done and listening to the audiobook was similar to a podcast。 In book 2, we follow Pip as she does just that, creating a podcast to detail the missing person case Jamie, older brother to her friend Connor。 I suppose if I had JUST finished book 1 then I would remember all of these characters but that is not the case and there were many people I was left wondering if I was supposed to know them。 Connor and Jamie are two of them。 Are they in book 1? It would have been nice if there was a brief explanation as to these people were for readers like me that need a bit of help。 The storyline in this one is not nearly as strong as the murder of Andie Bell and it has a rather slower start。 It does pick up but never at full speed ahead。 The ending though is ridiculous, it came completely out of left field。 It seemed hastily thrown together and it left me scratching my head。。 3 stars 。。。more

I should start this review out by saying that I loved A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, and it was one of my favorite reads last year。 So while I hesitate to say that this book suffered from second book syndrome, it did just a teeny tiny bit。There was still everything that I loved about the first book。 The mixed media was fantastic and as a reader you're able to play real-time detective alongside Pip。 The mix of interviews, transcripts, pictures, and actual prose just works so well for a mystery ty I should start this review out by saying that I loved A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, and it was one of my favorite reads last year。 So while I hesitate to say that this book suffered from second book syndrome, it did just a teeny tiny bit。There was still everything that I loved about the first book。 The mixed media was fantastic and as a reader you're able to play real-time detective alongside Pip。 The mix of interviews, transcripts, pictures, and actual prose just works so well for a mystery type of book。 We also got to see Pip and Ravi's relationship evolve and I loved the portrayal of a healthy, communicative relationship in YA。 The ending was also great, and the last chapter or so gave me chills。 The prose was amazingly well done。The reason why I'm not giving it five stars is twofold。 First, I found the beginning to be very slow。 It's a bit of wrap-up from the last book and establishes the podcast and the state of the case from the first book。 While I appreciated this and it did help orient the story, I felt like I was about 50 pages in before any hint of the second book's plot。 Maybe in hindsight it wasn't long, but when I was reading it, the pace felt so slow。 I just kept waiting for the sequel's plot to hit。 I'd rather jump right in to the mystery。I also think that the "mystery" element of the second book just wasn't as compelling。 The first book had a murder mystery and there was a huge element of danger and suspense。 While this book was a missing persons case and there was that tension and the deadline of "time," it just didn't come across the same way。 I think the tension in the sequel's plot just wasn't as strong。All of this being said, I still really enjoyed the sequel and will 100% buy and read the rest of the books in the series。 Holly Jackson is such a talented author and I'm excited to see where this series takes us。 。。。more
